This is the first time that a company has been selected for the FTSE Blossom Japan Index, and the second consecutive year for the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index.

The FTSE Blossom Japan Index is created by global index provider FTSE Russell and is designed to measure the performance of with good environmental, social and governance (ESG). The Japan Index is widely used to create and evaluate sustainable mutual funds and other financial products.  FTSE Russell evaluates companies in the areas of corporate governance, health and safety, anti-corruption, and climate change, and the companies that comprise the FTSE Blossom Japan Index meet a variety of environmental, social, and governance criteria.

The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index is designed to be sector neutral,and reflects the relative performance of Japanese companies that excel in environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance in their respective sectors. In order to promote the transition to a low-carbon economy, only those companies with particularly high GHG emissions that are recognized for their improvement efforts by the TPI Management Quality Score are included in the index.
